  • This is the stripwood that's left after making the Gable and Attic Endwall Trim

  • There are 5 sections of Porch Facia (3 layers of stripwood per section) - each has a rail the same length

  • I will use the railing to measure the stripwood

  • I'm starting the cut across the end of the railing

  • ...and finishing it on a cutting board using the Blind Divider for a square-guide

  • Each Railing section has 3 pieces of stripwood for the Facia: 1:, 3/4", and 3/16"

  • Here are all the pieces I need for the Porch Facia

  • Painting the Facia stripwood - first coat
    porch_facia_...
  • My Facia color plan is for Country Redwood on the 1" pieces, white on the 3/4" pieces, and Country Redwood again on the 3/16" pieces (the same as the Triangle Facia)

  • Sand between coats

  • Always sand thin stripwood flat on the table or "pulling" only. Pushing (sanding toward the hand that's holding the stripwood) can snap a piece of thin stripwood which ruins it and exposes you to stabbing-sharp broken wood

  • Second coat - I do one end at a time so I don't leave fingerprints
