  • These shots are of a test assembly of a set of JM401 parts. I did not use glue and did not complete the house. Use these photos for parts identification and orientation, but not instead of the house instructions

  • If this were an actual assembly, I'd be gluing in the floors. Notice that the floors stick out about 1/8" toward the front

  • If this were an actual assembly, I'd be painting the walls on the outside before assembly

  • When I assemble a house with wood-grain flooring I pre-finish the floors with several coats of acrylic urethane (like 'StaysClear') or with a non-penetrating stain+urethane (like 'PolyShades'). This protects the floors from damage when you take off the tape. Even with a finish, rub the tape of f instead of tearing it off

  • Here again, protect the floors before using tape. I do not recommend taping to wood-grained floors with high-strength masking tape. The adhesive will tear the flooring. Use weight only for this step and just tape across the back edge

  • In this taped assembly, I have used Dividers to hold the Porch Triangles and Spacers at the right height. If you use them too, take out the Dividers before putting on the Gingerbread or the Dividers won't fit thru the opening!

  • This much space between the Roofs keeps the tape from breaking when you fold the Roofs over the house

  • This is where I do the shingle lines
    a100_0137.jp...
  • If this were an actual assembly, I'd mark the Sidewalls on the underside of the Roofs and paint to the marks (and a tiny bit over the line)
