I sanded very gently with scotch brite after the first coat dried. Here is the second coat. The arrow shows the repair - almost invisible.

I am burnishing the stain with the heal of an X-acto knife to give it a directional pattern like the flooring.

Gel Stain, OneCoat, any of the surface applied stains (as opposed to "penetrating" stain) can be dabbed on. Try to match the color of the flooring.

Test lay out the panels. When they are nicely spaced and all the same, take off one panel at-a-time for gluing. Two dots of glue is plenty.

The Second coat only on one face and all the edges.

The paint has dried. I sand smooth both faces, all edges, and every corner.

All edges and both sides of the Shutter Core too. The parts are on waxed paper to dry... I turn them over after about 10 minutes.
