Tapewire is easy to find in an empty room with the light coming flat along a wall, but in a decorated room or with diffuse lighting, it is hard to see and harder still to know exactly where the conductors are.
But a piece of paper taped to the wall and then rubbed gently with a soft pencil can give an exact picture of the tapewire and eyelets.
When you can see the conductors and the eyelets, you can inspect the accuracy of all your connections looking for ones that are suspicious. You can also use a needle to make a test connection alongside an eyelet to see if that illuminates the testlight. See "Restore an Eyelet Connection" (at left).
